Look at the whole table first. This is our map.
Big idea: when we multiply by 2, we count in 2s.
So if we see 2 × 4, we think: “2, 4, 6, 8.” The answer is 8.
Read each row slowly. Point with your finger if that helps. We want your eyes, ears, and brain to work together.
Read each line: 2 times something equals a bigger count in 2s.

After the answer appears, read the whole sentence aloud:
2 times one equals 2.
Start with 2 × 1 and go all the way to 2 × 12.

When you multiply by 2, count in 2s.
If the number is 8, then 2 × 8 = 16.
If the number is 12, then 2 × 12 = 24.
