Big idea: when we multiply by 3, we count in 3s.
So if we see 3 × 4, we think: “3, 6, 9, 12.” The answer is 12.
Read each row slowly. Point with your finger if that helps. We want your eyes, ears, and brain to work together.
Read each line: 3 times something equals a bigger count in 3s.

After the answer appears, read the whole sentence aloud:
3 times one equals 3.
Start with 3 × 1 and go all the way to 3 × 12.
