Big idea: when we multiply by 5, we count in 5s.
So if we see 5 × 4, we think: “5, 10, 15, 20.” The answer is 20.
Read each row slowly. Point with your finger if that helps. We want your eyes, ears, and brain to work together.
Read each line: 5 times something equals a bigger count in 5s.

After the answer appears, read the whole sentence aloud:
5 times one equals 5.
Start with 5 × 1 and go all the way to 5 × 12.
