Multiply with 5!

The Number 5 Multiplication Table Adventure

Meet Momo the Multiply Star and learn how multiplying by 5 helps us count in groups of 5. We will read the full table, watch each fact appear, practise in order, practise in mixed order, and then win a certificate.

The Full Multiplication Table of 5

Look at the whole table first. This is our map.

Big idea: when we multiply by 5, we count in 5s.

So if we see 5 Γ— 4, we think: β€œ5, 10, 15, 20.” The answer is 20.

Read each row slowly. Point with your finger if that helps. We want your eyes, ears, and brain to work together.

Remember: times 5 means β€œcount by 5s”.

Table of 5

Read each line: 5 times something equals a bigger count in 5s.

Watch It Build

We will show each fact one part at a time.

On this page, the fact appears like this:

5 β†’ Γ— β†’ 1 β†’ = β†’ 5

After the answer appears, read the whole sentence aloud:

5 times one equals 5.

How to crack it: for 5 Γ— 5, count by 5s five times to reach 25.

Practice in Order

Start with 5 Γ— 1 and go all the way to 5 Γ— 12.

Now it is your turn.

Each question gives you 3 choices. Pick the correct answer, then move to the next one.

Because these are in order, you can notice the pattern: the answers keep growing by 5 each time.

Helpful thought: 5 Γ— 6 means count 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.

Practice in Mixed Order

Now the facts jump around. Let’s see if you still know them.

This time, the questions are not in order.

You might see 5 Γ— 4, then 5 Γ— 9, then 5 Γ— 2.

That is how we check if you really know the rule, not just the order.

Same rule every time: count by 5s to reach the answer.

Quick Review

Let’s lock the pattern into your memory.

Here is the whole trick in one sentence:

When you multiply by 5, count in 5s.

If the number is 8, then 5 Γ— 8 = 40.

If the number is 12, then 5 Γ— 12 = 60.

Remember These

5 Γ— 3

= 15

5 Γ— 6

= 30

5 Γ— 9

= 45

5 Γ— 12

= 60

Memory line: count by 5, and you’re done!
